Samsung Galaxy S5 might sport a mix of stainless steel and plastic, not a full metal body

Numerous rumors have suggested that there’s a high chance the Galaxy S5 will come in a standard and a premium variant, with the latter sporting a metal body. However, a report from the Korean media says that the premium Galaxy S5 won’t feature a full metal construction; instead, the device will employ a stainless steel battery cover while having its other components made out of plastic, a move made to reduce the weight of the smartphone.

There’s no telling how much truth there is behind the new report, but it might come as disappointment to those who were expecting a fully metal Galaxy S5. But then again, if the stainless steel and plastic combo means we’ll be able to access the battery, an ability competing “metallic” phones lack, then it’s a decision we’ll certainly not be complaining against.
